Good governance to save P6-7B in public works

Budget and Management Secretary Florencio B. Abad said savings in public works through the reduction of project costs is expected to grow to about P6 to P7 billion by year-end. This will be done by instituting open, competitive and transparent bidding of public works projects, goods, and consultancy services.

BIR collections on track from January to April 2011

Tax collections by the Bureau of Internal Revenue have reached a total of P302.94 billion from January to April this year. This figure exceeds the cumulative target for the period, which amounts to Php302.16 billion, by Php781 million or 0.3%.
